Improving the Lives of all working Men and Women is What Defines Us, Not One Court Case.

President's Message
June 28, 2018

The Janus v. AFSCME case has always been part of a thinly veiled series of attacks on the rights of all working people. The wealthy elite behind this case want to drain unions of resources so that working people will not have a powerful voice.

Last year New York's labor movement, with 2.5 million members mobilized to stop the Constitutional Convention in New York State and set the tone that we, as public-sector labor in this state will not sit idle when attacked.

We will remain strong. In fact, today's decision will only make us stronger and more determined to fight for better wages, benefits and conditions of employment, as well as for a brighter future for all workers and their families.
