Last Friday COBANC and four other unions testified before the Legislature on the re-opening and operation of New York's Courts during the Covid-19 pandemic. It was chaired by Senator Brad Hoylman of the Judiciary Committee, Senator Jamaal Bailey, Chair of the Codes Committee and Senator Brian Kavanagh, Chair of the Housing, Construction and Community Development along with Senators O'Mara, Lanza, Krueger, Savino, Thomas and Kaplan to name a few.
Chief Administrative Judge Lawrence Marks kicked off the hearing as always and various panels went before us. In our group we went last out of the five court unions invited to speak and in doing so structured our testimony not to reiterate certain issues, but to stress a few of the more important problems we are all experiencing here in Nassau County. We were given five minutes each and at the end of the unions testimony, answered questions. Below is our official testimony submitted but not all that was testified to.
