For Phase Two, all of the General Safety Protocols, including the Cleaning and Sanitizing regimens, that were designed to help protect the health and safety of all individuals coming into the Courthouses in Nassau County will remain in effect and be enhanced during the implementation of Phase Two. It is intended that Phase Two will bring a limited increase in the number of individuals entering the Courthouses, both for the general public and Court staff. In addition to the safety measures in Phase One, the Phase II Plan will make available face shields for all Court employees and Judges consistent with OCA policy.
There have been some complaints on masks, gloves and sanitizer not being available. If this happens please see your supervisor in your department who will then notify those in charge of handing out the PPE. There is an internal control that must be kept and the buildings are complying with the protocols issued by OCA.
When it comes to masks and social distancing, please think of your fellow co-workers. We remind everyone that face masks are required when interacting with the public, in common areas such as hallways, elevators, restrooms, locker rooms, etc., or any time that social distancing cannot be accomplished. We understand how difficult these new protocols are to remember sometimes, but as more members return to work we don't want this to become more of an issue. Please respect the health and safety of those around you.
For any member that is caring for a child whose school or place of care is closed (or child care provider is unavailable) for reasons related to COVID-19 there are employee paid leave rights. Please contact us or local administration if this applies to you.
