Due to an overwhelming demand that we do SOMETHING while waiting for the fact finder to be appointed AND while we waiting for the Courts to decide our "Equal pay for equal work", Court Officer lawsuit AND we wait for the Court to decide our UNEGOTIATED Health Insurance increase lawsuit AND to get Civil Legal Services OUT of the Judiciary budget so we can have proper staffing levels and fair compensation packages, etc., etc., etc.......... we have decided to take our story to the public and the media. We have been patient long enough.
Please see the included flyer announcing our May 24th rally, on the north side of County Court, 262 Old Country Road, Mineola. We will be rallying and I want COBANC to come out strong! To make a large impression with the media and OCA I feel that we need 200+ members to march - EVERYTIME WE RALLY!
All the information you need is on the below flyer. We will have about 30 member made signs to carry and an LED truck depicting our messages for the rallies AND I will be making the rounds earlier in the day to every court building at least once to remind and energize the members to come to the rally. The route will be Family Court around 10:00, District, Supreme, Mat Center and then County Court for our 1:15 rally. The truck will then visit all the court building and back at County Court for our 5:15 - 6:00 rally. Our rally theme song is the Twisted Sister rock classic, "We're Not Gonna Take It." I want everyone to sing the chorus every time it comes up during the rally, loud and strong!
If you care about the future of your profession IT IS CRITICAL THAT YOU SHOW UP. We will be joined by (SCCEA) Suffolk President, Bill Dobbins, Dan Levler, President, Christina Maher, First Vice President of the Suffolk County Association of Municipal Employees, and 9th JD President, Selene Jackson. I am also reaching out today to ALL downstate court union President's and asking them to appear, send an Executive Board member and/or some of their members to join us.
Through our communications consultant, Kris LaGrange over at UCOMM, they are reaching out to some of his other clients who are private and municipal union leaders, including the CWA at Verizon and the Nassau County Sheriffs to see if they will also join us. Public unions/private unions - we are all getting screwed. WE SHOULD ALL BAND TOGETHER TO HELP EACH OTHER. When labor has had enough and bands together - things change for the better. Not only for the unions, BUT FOR THE DISAPPEARING MIDDLE CLASS TOO!
BROTHERS AND SISTERS COME SHOW YOUR SOLIDARITY AND SUPPORT OF YOUR UNION'S EFFORTS TO IMPROVE YOUR LIVES WITH REASONABLE AND DECENT WORKING CONDITIONS AND FAIR COMPENSATION PACKAGES. Something that will fade into the rearview mirror if we don't do something about it! NOW!
