FREE N.Y.S. BOATER SAFETY COURSE FOR COBANC MEMBERS & THEIR FAMILY

New law effective May 1, 2014:

  • All individuals born on or after 5/1/96 are now required to complete an approved course in boater education in order to operate a motorboat
  • Operators may not operate a Personal Watercraft (JetSki, SeaDoo, etc.) unless they are at least 14 years of age and hold a boater safety certificate - having completed an 8-hour classroom based course of instruction
  • A person without a safety certificate (ANY AGE) may operate a Personal Watercraft ONLY when accompanied (upon the Personal Watercraft) by someone over 18 years of age who is the holder of a boater safety certificate.

Classes to be held in the COBANC Union office at 2545 Hempstead Turnpike, East Meadow on:

JULY 31st - from 6 - 10 pm (Part 1: 4-hrs) - AND - AUGUST 4th - from 6 - 10 pm (Part 2: 4-hrs)

YOU MUST ATTEND BOTH CLASSES TO BE ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE A BOATER SAFETY CERTIFICATE
