The four "orphan" Presidents (those still without a contract), Billy Imandt (COBANC), Dennis Quirk from NYSCOA, Pat Cullen from SCOA and newly elected Court Clerk's Association President Pam Brown met in Nassau County last week for a contract summit. Billy wanted to get all the President's together in the same room to discuss IF we are going to work together; and if so, HOW we can all work together. Our four unions represent over 5,000 members, about 1/3 of the state court workers. Billy's theory is that we are a force to be reckoned with if we work together with appearances, meetings, letters, ads and rallies. It was a very productive meeting and all four Presidents' agreed it was best to work together but without being "married" to each other. We came up with a game plan as to what to do next. That will not be shared here at this time because it is still in development. We've all agreed to meet again right after Labor Day to finalize and begin to implement our strategy.
