On Saturday, unions from across the country will be holding rallies to protest the upcoming Supreme Court case Janus v AFSCME. This case, which will be heard on Monday, would allow public employees who are covered under a union contract to free ride, getting the benefits of union without having to pay dues. Simply put it would severely weaken our union and make it harder for COBANC to work on your behalf. This court decision would be the biggest attack on unions ever. This is why I am encouraging our membership to stand up and fight back. Unions from across the tri-state area, both public and private, will be holding a rally at Foley Square in New York City on Saturday morning. Uniting as one, we need to show our elected officials and the anti-union forces behind the case that we will stand united and stick with our unions.
