Union Dues Become Tax Deductible on State Taxes

Sunday, April 15, 2018

Governor Cuomo has passed legislation that will now make union dues tax deductible on your N.Y. State taxes. This takes effect in 2018, which means we cannot start deducting them until we file our 2018 tax returns, in 2019. That is this person's understanding at this time, but I urge all members to speak to their tax preparer about this change.
